Epworth United Methodist Church is seeking a part-time church secretary to administer the office, provide clerical support to the pastor, and welcome members and guests during the week. Job Details
Part-time, January through December. Approximately 15 hours per week.
Tuesday through through Thursday 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Or a similar schedule may be negotiated.)
Key duties include:
Administration of office needs, including clerical support for the church pastor
Coordination of church communications, including answering phone calls, responding to email communications, and developing monthly newsletter & weekly worship guides
Maintenance of church membership records and database in coordination with church volunteers
Administration of church calendar, including scheduling events and reserving space within the church building

Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications, $16-20 per hour.
Required Qualifications
Ability to communicate clearly with respect and kindness.
Demonstrate a constructive, positive attitude.
Ability to keep confidential information confidential with integrity
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to accept interruptions in the work flow with grace
Be proficient with computers and computer technology, including publication and word processing software, spreadsheets, and email
Able to learn new software as needed, such as church database and church presentation software
Have excellent writing, layout, and editing skills
Be willing to learn additional technology methods and perform best practices consistently
Completion of Criminal Background History and Child Abuse Prevention Training
